Whitefish Review

Pamela DeTuncq

I was contacted by a writer for the Whitefish Review about including a sculpture of mine depicting teenagers with cell phones, called Flock, in an upcoming issue. As it turns out, they chose to include the sculpture, Part D, instead. This more recent sculpture and its story about the over-medication of the elderly, appear in the publication. Whitefish Review: Art, Literature, Photography, issue #18, is themed Growing Up/Getting Older and includes a conversation with David Letterman. Montana is Letterman’s new home and I love that he gave his exit interview from The Late Show to this Montana-based journal.

ABOUT

Through her diverse sculpture, conceptual artist Pamela DeTuncq addresses some of the more compelling zeitgeists of contemporary American culture. After years in the design industry, she now applies her skills to multi-layered sculptural work addressing such disparate themes as teen alienation, gender stereotypes, and the vicissitudes of faith.
She earned her MFA in Visual Arts from the Art Institute of Boston and BA in Graphic Design from the University of Maryland. Her work has been shown nationally, with the Dennos Museum recently adding one of her fiber installations to their permanent collection.
